The Korean Hornbeam also known as the Carpinus turczaninowii, originated from Korea in the early 1900s. This small, round shaped tree is a perfect setting for any garden or parklands.

Carpinus turczaninowii can be seen in the summer with shiny, deep green foliage that has toothed edges. These leaves are grouped into decorative clusters, similarly to other hornbeams. This looks amazing in bright summer days but so does the spring colour which is a unique bronze colour. During the autumn time, the foliage is a blazing orange colour with some splashes of red found around the tree. Small nutlets can also be seen on the tree during Autumn to add some more colour to the tree. The weeping branches on the Hornbeam also make this tree perfect for getting some shade during the summer months.

The Korean Hornbeam is a very sturdy and well-established tree that is resistant to cold winters and will grow in any well drained, fertile soils.
